Story
I am very proud to say that I will be running the TCS London Marathon 2023 for The British Heart Foundation.
After my Mum (Lisa Bonser), was the very lucky winner of our Running Club’s ballot place we jumped at the chance to run and raise funds together for a charity so very close to us, in hope we can help prevent future heartache our family has suffered in the past and also recent times.
Heart implications and heart disease has caused significant loss and worry across our family. My Grandad (my Mum’s Dad) suffered with Ischemic Heart Disease and passed away suddenly at just aged 62. In more recent times, my Uncle (Mum’s Brother) had a Triple Heart Bypass, but sadly passed away last year.
Two of my Auntie’s (Mum’s Sisters) have also received heart related treatment, such as Heart Stents. With Mum also receiving medication for high blood pressure.
As you can see, running for The British Heart Foundation means an awful lot to both of us. I am sure it is going to be an emotional journey and one we and our family will cherish forever.
I will also be running Brighton Marathon 2023 just three weeks before London, in hope we can raise as much money as possible!
Any donation no matter how big or small is hugely appreciated and will mean a tremendous amount to Mum and I as we conquer this journey together!
Thank you all
Katie and Lisa xx

The British Heart Foundation has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
