Age UK Camden are receiving more than 200 calls a day from distressed older people without enough food in the house. In a response to this we have turned our two sites in the North and South of the borough into hubs.
Story
Age UK Camden are receiving a significant number of calls from older people in distress because they haven't enough food at home and are too nervous to go out. In response we are launching a Nutrition and Wellbeing Resilience Care Package including our internet shopping service, telephone befriending, telephone counselling and emergency food parcels, an online book club for older people who need to or choose to stay at home during the coronavirus outbreak. We will also be live stream musical recitals via Facebook and YouTube to help boost morale for those unable to leave the house. It is imperative that we support and care for Camdens older people to the very best of our ability during these challenging and difficult times.
