Story
Time to Talk West Berkshire supports over 500 young people in need each year with over 5,000 free counselling sessions. They have a special place in my heart as I was once one of those young people. Time to Talk West Berkshire helped me through a time when I felt most anxious, lacking confidence and not myself. Reaching out for help is always a difficult thing to do but I hope that by raising awareness and sharing my story, others may have the courage to ask for the help they need too.
Time to Talk West Berkshire receive no government funding, all costs are raised through Service Level Agreements, contracts, grants and donations. They currently have around 30 voluntary / part-paid trained counsellors but referrals to their service has increased by over 50% in the past two years and demand continues to rise with typically over 50 people in need on their waiting list at any one time. Therefore they need your support to maintain and grow this much needed service.
This is why Myles and I are planning to climb to the summit and back of Snowdon, Cader Idris and Pen y fan, all within 24 hours to raise funds for this charity. It will be a challenge, but it is a challenge worth doing to even be able to raise a small amount of money to help this fantastic charity to continue doing what they do.
