The chances are, all of us will know someone who has suffered from dementia. We will be aware of how cruelly it can rob the sufferer of their independence and their family and friends of the person they once knew. Alzheimer's Research UK do an incredible job funding research to find treatments for dementia. There is a very good chance that in the future, dementia may be a thing of the past, so trying to raise as much money as possible now will help bring this moment even closer. With more than a million people currently diagnosed with dementia in the UK, we are symbolically trying to cycle the breadth of the country (even at quite a narrow point!) and hopefully raise a decent amount of cash for AR UK, seemed like a good idea. Katie and I will be attempting to cover the 275 km in 3 days and it would be brilliant if you felt you could donate a bit of money to help spur us on. If anyone fancies joining us for the trip or just a day or just a few hours of cycling then that would be even more amazing. We set off on June 30th 2023. Please just let us know.
