Story

THANKYOU SOO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO HAS ALREADY DONATED!!!!

Thankyou for coming to my pageeeee!  Bit of an essay coming up...

I've signed up for this half marathon, and yes, it really did seem like a good idea at the time.  But now I've realised just how many miles it is (weirdly, they don't seem to clock up quite as quickly when you're not in a car) and the idea doesn't seem quite as appealing, so it's a good job I have some pretty exceptional people to inspire me!

I am running in memory of my amazing Step-dad, Mark Green, who fought bravely for a very long time before losing his battle with a digestive cancer, and also for his mother Maria, who I know was an amazing lady, as well as my Grandad, John.  They are my motivation and hopefully what will stop me passing out half way around the track!  But it is not only about them.  It is for everyone affected by cancer in anyway, those suffering with it, their families and their friends.

I am running in support of Beating Bowel Cancer, an amazing charity that raises awareness of the symptoms, promotes early diagnosis and supports those affected by bowel cancer in numerous ways.  Of course finding a cure is the ultimate aim, but the invaluable work of Beating Bowel Cancer is so important as it supports those affected by bowel cancer RIGHT NOW.

Just £5 could provide a patient with a 'Just Diagnosed' information pack

£10 could allow 100 worried members of the public to access Beating Bowel Cancer's vital online information on the symptoms of bowel cancer, increasing the chances of an early diagnosis in anyone suffering from it

£50 could cover the cost of their online patient forum for 1 day, allowing patients, their family and friends to share information, advice and support

And the £300 I'm aiming to raise?  That could run a specialist nurse helpline for a whole day, providing support and advice to newly diagnosed patients and their families.  Or it could do a combination of all these things.  But it would definitely make a BIG difference!

So please, please, please if you possibly can, do donate!  I am sooo grateful for any support you can give and I promise I'll run really fast for you!  And if anyone fancies coming down on the day, and cheering me on/running in front of me with a donut/chasing me with a flamethrower (anything to keep me going) your presence will be MUCH appreciateddd!

Thanksss!

Love KT x
