Story
After 2 postponed dates and restarting the training multiple times I will finally will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 3rd October for an amazing cause; to raise money for Scope and help them in the fight for equality for people with disabilities.
This cause is something that is close to me and my family and I believe Scope focuses on key issues that provide invaluable support for those who may feel excluded from society.
Scope’s vision is to achieve a society where all disabled people enjoy equality and fairness. They provide a platform for disabled people’s voices and experiences, supporting young people to campaign on issues which matter to them. Campaigns they have previously led have involved making public transport more accessible to disabled people, fighting to reduce life costs (higher bills and expensive equipment), and creating a friendlier work environment by addressing people’s attitudes to disabled people.
Any donations of any size will be greatly appreciated and will help me get through the finish line on the day! As you already know I haven't been gifted with long legs and a natural running ability, but I am determined to cross the finish line with a big smile on my face.
Thank you in advance for the support and bring on those 26.2 miles!
Lots of Love
Katie
