Maddie and I are taking part in the Brain Tumour Research, Jump for Hope, on Saturday 10th September 2022. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40, than any other cancer. At least 88,000 children and adults are estimated to be living with a brain tumour in the UK currently. The direct cause of brain tumours is still unclear, which is why more investment in research is needed!
On a personal note, Maddie's dad was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour in 2019. He has been treated at St Luke's Cancer Centre, who have been an incredible support to both himself and his family. Historically, just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours. Brain Tumour Research charity receive no income from the government and rely entirely on funds raised by supporters that help them in their mission to build a network of experts in sustainable research at UK Centres of Excellence. Therefore, we would be very grateful for any donation possible.
This jump means a lot to both myself and Maddie to support an unbelievable charity, who's vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours and to increase the UK investment in brain tumour research.
