Story
I'm doing the most mad thing I've ever done and signed up to the London marathon on behalf of Macmillan. As a family we have unfortunately been affected by cancer through the loss of loved ones so we have first hand experience of how difficult it is to navigate the illness and understand how important organisations such as macmillan are in easing unexpected burdens on those fighting this terrible disease.
I signed up to do this marathon months ago, it's become even more special now since we lost Uncle Nigel. He'd think I'm mental for doing it and probably say "well you should probably stop drinking so much bloody wine then".
Macmillan don't just support those going through the disease personally, but also assist however they can to the networks surrounding those people. Offering financial support, helping with wigs when going through chemo, assisting with end of life care, coordinating donations, and emotional support when someone passes on. These are just the ways in which Macmillan have supported my family and friends and doesn't scratch the surface of everything else they do.
This is for those who we love and miss, for those fighting still, and for those who are supporting and missing loved ones going through it.
