Story
Like most of us, I’m a much better person when I have a focus and if I’m being truly honest with myself I haven’t found my self-imposed Digme 200 spin classes in 200 days too brutal (I really shouldn’t be admitting to that!) so I’ve decided to really challenge myself and extend it to 365 classes but in 265 days taking me to 19 September (having started on 28 December). This is based on 10-12 classes per week (whilst continuing with 2 PTs sessions with the lovely Aaron 🙏). This really is a genuine hard slog and something that I find daunting (it’s currently making me feel a bit queasy 😱) so I’d like to harness that and properly fundraise, adding to Digme’s amazing efforts already for the DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. I’m incredibly lucky that my work will match fund up to £500 so I’ve set myself a very optimistic target of £1k 😬 I’ll keep you abreast of my progress over the coming 5 months and hopefully I’ll remain injury free and still love spinning at the end of it 😂
If you feel able to sponsor me I’d be enormously grateful. They will send new sponsorship money every week to the DEC so it won’t just be left sitting there doing nothing until I finish my challenge on 19 September. It will go towards providing food, water, shelter and healthcare to refugees and displaced families. The conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing millions to flee. Homes have been destroyed. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost. DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month£50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm£100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
