Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be running my first half marathon on Sunday 9th September. This is not only a huge personal challenge and achievement for myself but also an opportunity to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity. This charity holds a special place in my heart as they continue to support my good friend Andy and his family, as well as the wider picture of on-going treatment options, care and finding a cure.
Andy was diagnosed early in 2014, after a huge operation he had to learn to walk, talk and do the basic of tasks again. Four years later and he is still battling with the disease itself, as well as the side effects from the drugs he has to take. He has the most amazing wife and son, they are trio of wonderful people who I love dearly. Andy is a complete inspiration, his positive outlook and enthusiasm for life never ceases to amaze me. He refuses to be beaten by 'Terry The Tumour' and continues to challenge himself physically and mentally and has recently set up 'Challenge1512' which my page is linked to. Please donate anything you can, brain tumours are the number 1 cancer when it comes to most deaths in children and adults under 40, yet it receives less than 2% from all the money donated towards to cancer research, that doesn’t make for easy reading but is the harsh reality so every donation is vital and makes a difference. They really need our on-going support.
