Story
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Unfortunately, as some of you may know my dad suffered a stroke at the age of 45 and his life instantly changed as well as ours. He spent many weeks in hospital relearning how to talk, eat, drink and walk. He’s overcome so many challenges and as a family we are so proud of him as we know how difficult it has been adapting to a new life. By doing this charity swim I would like to raise money to go towards stroke research and support to help others as we are all at risk of having a stroke. I will be swimming a total of 10,000 meters within the month of August and as I am not a regular swimmer this is a new challenge. Any support is truly appreciated.
