Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Now that we are all over eighteen we thought it would be the perfect year to run the London Marathon together. 26.2 miles doesn’t seem too far when your father has somehow managed to complete it twice.
Training will be carried out over the next few months; in Surrey, London, Berkshire & Loughborough.
Who do you think will cross the finish line first? Place your bets in the form of a donation to the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund.
The RPMF was set up by Jean Pickering after her Husband Ron sadly passed, they were both highly successful International and Olympic Athletes but also teachers of the sport. Jean wanted to continue Ron’s legacy by helping the next generation of athletes
The RPMF raises vital funds to help and support young aspiring British athletes reach their true potential. They help athletes make the difficult transition from junior to senior level through support for equipment, specialist coaching or travel and importantly building their confidence and self esteem through recognition and helping retain their talent within the sport.
The majority of the British athletics Olympic teams in 2008, 2012 and 2016 had at some stage of their careers received support from the Fund, including all of the London 2012 and 2016 individual Olympic athletics medallists.
