Story
I am completing the Three Peaks challenge in memory of Alex Baish, my friend and colleague Rich’s wife. Alex tragically passed away in October, 4 weeks after giving birth to their daughter. I remember Rich proudly telling our class about how Alex did the driving for her group on the Three Peaks challenge, which is why I have decided to complete it myself in her memory.
This will be a huge personal achievement for me after battling postnatal depression after all three of my children and PTSD after the birth of my middle child - supporting a charity who can help to make a difference to families experiencing postpartum mental health problems is extremely important to me.
I would love for everyone to share this fundraising page and help support Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) , they are a small charity who support mums, parents and families through some of the scariest of times.
Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) is a UK charity. We’re here to make sure mums, parents and families are supported through postpartum psychosis – a severe, but treatable, form of mental illness that occurs after having a baby and affects 1400 new mums in the UK each year.We offer information and peer support, facilitate ground breaking research, raise awareness and campaign for improved services. Our life changing peer support network helps women and families affected by postpartum psychosis feel understood, supported and less isolated.
