Many of you know that I am on the Lambda Legal Houston Leadership Committee.  Some of you have attended our annual fundraiser, and others have declined because you didn't want to drive downtown on a weeknight.  Well now you can support the cause and attend our fundraiser without leaving your home!  

I support Lambda Legal because they fight for LGBT rights in the courthouse.  Other organizations lobby in Congress and the Texas legislature for change.  But let's face it, this is Texas and we would never have legal gay marriage in Texas if it were up to the Texas Legislature.  It took a series of lawsuits that led to the U.S. Supreme Court.  Lambda Legal was instrumental in winning that lawsuit, which allowed me to marry the love of my life!  The lives of LGBT people and people living with HIV in Texas and throughout the country are better because of Lambda Legal's work.  We all should support this amazing organization that fights for us in courthouses every day.  So come on and donate and join my (virtual) table for our annual fundraising event!

Lambda Legal's annual events provide more than $5 million in grassroots driven funding, raised by individuals and volunteer committees in communities nationwide. The funds raised from friends, families, corporations, and law firms represent one-third of Lambda Legal's overall operating budget. Every ticket and sponsorship sold contributes toward this goal.In Texas, our annual fundraising events raise $315,000, toward our overall goal and we're counting on you to help.
