I got a place in the Bupa Great North Run half marathon earlier this year as a way of setting myself a challenge to get fit again and try and beat my first and only GNR personal best of 2 hours and 40 minutes back in Oct '06! I then decided I should make a big effort and use this opportunity to try and raise as much money as I can for a charity.

I'm sure you will have been asked to sponsor or donate to at least handful of other worthy charities already this year, and maybe you give reguarly too... With that in mind, I'm hoping that you will be able to give even just one or two pounds to help me reach my target of £200 (though you are most welcome to give more!)

£150 will provide relatively simple but life-changing cleft surgery for one child.

£45 will pay for medical supplies for one operation.

£10 will pay for post surgery antibiotics for 10 children.
