Story
I did it! I set off on the 1st July and walked all 200 miles of the Sussex Hospices Trail and finished, as planned, on 31st July.
It was a truly wonderful experience. I saw parts of the county I've never seen before, I met some lovely people on the way and I'm much fitter in body and spirit as a result. I was blessed with good weather, apart from a couple of drizzly days, and the paths were clear and dry the whole way round.
On the way I called in to each of the thirteen hospice care providers
FSH supports and caught up with their news. I kept a diary of each of my walks which you can view here https://www.hospicestrail.co.uk/blog/
A huge thank you to everyone who supported me - I'm bowled over by how generous everyone has been. Every penny raised will go to our hospices.
The Sussex Hospices Trail was created in 2016 as a circular trail to link the areas served by our adult and children's hospice care providers. It has 26 sections, ranging in distance from three to eleven miles. If you would like to walk a section of it as part of our Walk The Hospice Trail event on Saturday 3 October you can register your interest on the Sussex Hospices Trail website https://www.hospicestrail.co.uk/ and we'll send details in September. Any money you raise on that day can go direct to your local hospice or to FSH.
Thank you again for your wonderfully generous support, it is
hugely appreciated.
