Story
In memory of our late colleague and friend, Colin Richardson, we will be heading off to Scotland on a sponsored walk up Ben Lomond, one of many peaks of over 3000ft.
Colin spent many happy days with his family and friends, over nearly 50 years of visits to Scotland, and climbed every peak of over 3000ft known as Munros. Ben Lomond is the most southerly of these situated on the beautiful eastern shore of Loch Lomond.
We'll be remembering and celebrating Colin, and at the same time raising funds for Widowed Young Support, part of Care for the Family, a national charity which aims to promote strong family life and to help those who face family difficulties.
For over 30 years Care for the Family has been working throughout the UK and the Isle of Man providing parenting, relationship and bereavement support through events, resources, courses, training and volunteer networks.
It's heart-breaking at any age to lose a partner but for those who are widowed while still young, it is simply devastating. Through their work, Widowed Young Support understands this and are there to walk alongside those on their grief journey, whether widowed recently or some years ago. They offer a telephone befriending service, special day and weekend events, articles and real life stories from their website; often a vital lifeline for those struggling to come to terms with their loss.
So please help them to continue their work and provide a lifeline to widowed young people.
Thank you for your support.
