Story
So, what a year we've all had! I was originally going to do Race to the Tower in 2020, but for obvious reasons this was cancelled. It has also been cancelled this year so I've switched to Race to the Castle instead which takes place in Northumberland, starting in Kirkharle and finishing at Bamburgh Castle.
I will be doing this glorious 100km (62 miles) race with my usual running buddy Luke, we seem to like spending numerous hours together running stupid distances and talking absolute rubbish! We're having a trial run in 2 weeks where we will be running the 50km Spire Ultra together, alongside some of my favourite running buddies.
Throughout lockdown, running has been my absolute saviour and without it I would have gone insane and driven Jonn up the wall. The benefit of having so much time on my hands means I have managed to explore numerous new routes with Jonn and my running 'sister' Sam, who is always planning us new routes and these 'adventure day outs' wouldn't be the same without her. We've run 50km through the night chasing a sunrise we didn't see because of the clouds, been chased by badgers, seen numerous animals and wildlife, and fallen down in mud, snow and ice!
Many of you already know that my Uncle Robin and Jonns Uncle Bill both have Parkinson's. This is why I want to raise money for this amazing charity.
Covid has had a massive impact on charities, who rely on donations from kind people like you. So please donate as little or as much as you like.
Thank you so much for your support. Kathryn (Red)
