Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking part in this year's Bath Half Marathon and the Greater Manchester Marathon to raise money for the Bath RUH Critical Care fund through the Forever Friends Appeal.

Two days after completing my second Bath Half in 2017 my mum sadly passed away suddenly. She had always been so supportive over the years with my events and had been looking forward to hearing how I'd got on. I couldn't quite comprehend that days later she'd no longer be with us. My mum only spent 24 hours in the Critical Care Unit RUH Bath but it was the longest 24 hours of our lives. I sat by her bedside a lot during this time, watching all the incredible staff go about their daily tasks. They were all so kind and attentive towards my mum and my entire family. They even let my dad and myself stay the night in a room next to the ward. They all do an amazing job in what must be very a stressful and demanding environment; you would never have guessed this though as they always smiled and nothing was ever too much to ask for. It was therefore these incredible people that prompted me to sign up for the 2018 Bath Half and the Greater Manchester Marathon. In what was the worst 24 hours of my life they tirelessly saw to our every need and kept us well informed right until the precious end moments. I will be honoured to wear my vest with pride and hopefully raise the much needed funds to help give back and to say thank you for being there for my family in our hours of need.
