Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This challenge is massive for us, particularly me (KC) my sis is a machine - I have more of the Chase lazy gene :) Equally massive however was the loss we felt when our Grandma was slowly taken from us by Alzheimers. Just writing this brings tears to my eyes when I think back.
Our Grandma was awesome, just awesome, hilariously funny, amazingly kind, always happy, completely bonkers and for a lot of our childhood an ever present person. I loved her with all my heart and what this cruel disease did to her was absolutely heartbreaking. It robbed the very essence of her and witnessing it was the hardest thing that I have ever done.
Not only that but the impact it had on my Mum and how bravely she handled it was truly inspiring. The reason I kept going to see my Grandma with my Mum was that I loved my Grandma but I knew my Mum needed me to be there.
To think of someone else having to go through this means that I need to try and help. The Alzheimers Society supports not only people who have been diagnosed, but also the families and their carers.
I will be thinking about my Grandma every step of the challenge. Any money you give will mean so much - thank you!
