Fundraising for Steps
On Saturday 5 June we will be climbing Snowdon as part of Steps’ #1000footchallenge, a campaign to raise awareness of talipes/clubfoot.
Our youngest daughter/granddaughter, Ivy, was born with the condition and undergone the Ponseti method treatment from 4 weeks old. We’re all incredibly proud of how far she’s already come and how well she has handled this. The condition affects around one in every 1000 babies born in the UK and in most cases the cause is unknown.
Every year in the UK, 2,500 babies are born with a serious childhood lower limb condition. These leg conditions vary in their symptoms, frequency and prognosis. But without the correct diagnosis, treatment and support, it would be impossible for any of these children to walk properly later in life. Steps believe that all those with a childhood leg condition should have the very best chance to achieve their maximum potential. Their informative resources and support really helped us understand Ivy’s condition and the journey ahead.
Please donate what you can to help Steps continue with the fantastic work that they do.
