Story
In January 2011 our dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. This followed several months of extreme pain with him ending up virtually bedridden. Over many months the team at Guy's and St. Thomas' treated our father; the man that started off requiring a wheelchair to attend his hospital visits ended up back on his feet. Things were looking up and the results from dad's checkup appointments were positive until 2013 when he suddenly stopped responding to his treatments. We were all experiencing that awful 'no hope' feeling when dad's consultant advised there was a treatment that might help however, this was not available on the NHS. Macmillan Cancer Support was approached for funding which thankfully they granted.
We have no doubt that without Macmillan's support we would no longer have our father. What about dad... Despite the cancer he is living a full life spending quality time with his family and regularly fishing, gardening and even decorating!
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. If you are able to give please do so - without the wonderful work carried out by Macmillan many families would be without their loved ones.
