Story
Hello!
I am very excited (and terrified) to be making the iconic 26.2 mile journey around London on Sunday 2nd October this year! This is my first ever marathon and I am very proud to be running to raise money for a truly wonderful charity - Macmillan Cancer Support.
I am currently an Anaesthetic Doctor working at Leicester Royal Infirmary and we see a huge number of patients on their cancer journeys every week. I see mostly the patients having an operation as part of their cancer treatment pathway and most, if not all of them receive valuable support from Macmillan. Whether that be physical, emotional, practical or financial support. Macmillan fundraise, undertake research, support the cancer care workforce, this list goes on. But like most charities they need vital funds in order to continue their mission to make cancer care better for everyone that might need it.
This is where YOU come in!! Please donate as little or as much as you can. The knowledge that I am helping to raise money for such an amazing cause will undoubtedly help me through the many miles of training and on race day itself.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and wish me luck!
Kat
