Story
I'm helping this charity raise £250,000 for their 25th birthday. Calvert Trust Exmoor is a charity and adventure centre that enables people with physical, learning, sensory and behavioural disabilities to achieve their potential through exciting activities, making outdoor adventures on Exmoor accessible to all. The charity has lost over £1 million due to closure during the Coronavirus pandemic. But by helping to raise at least £250,000 this year, the charity will be able to celebrate its birthday and can look ahead to another 25 years.
As my passion is being out on the moors and coastal paths of the South West, it will be great to help others to also enjoy this wonderful area. I would love to totally bust the target I've set, so if you can sponsor me anything at all, that would be great, and you will also be helping others to access Exmoor and give families a much-needed safe space for their whole family to enjoy activities together, when they might not otherwise be able to do so. Do check out Calvert Trust, Exmoor on their website, to see the great work that they do. I am sure, like me, you will be inspired by their work.
There will be a tracker web-page during the event, so you will be able to follow my progress as I move from Wembury, South Devon, across the moors and mid-Devon farmland, to Lynmouth, North Devon. If I have any strength left at the end, I will be dipping my toes in the sea to cool off! I will post a link to the tracker site on my facebook page on the Friday before the event.
