Story
Most people have been touched by cancer in some way or another, it is never easy to watch someone we care about suffer or to have them taken from us but somehow the suffering is felt even more keenly when it is a child who has cancer.
Many of my family and friends have been affected by cancer and I wanted to do some fundraising in memory of those who are no longer with us. I also wanted to cut my very long hair but couldn't bear the idea of it being swept up and thrown in the bin, there had to be something that could be done with it. Then I heard about hair donation and a plan began to form!
The Little Princess Trust uses donations of real hair and money raised from fundraising to provide wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. I'm not brave enough to go the whole way and shave my head but hope that people will be kind enough to sponsor me to cut off 14" (twice the minimum requirement of 7"!) which is certainly going to be a very different look for me!
I plan to have my hair cut at a fundraising "cake and cards" sale, at which people will be able to enjoy a cup ot tea and a cake whilst watching me get my hair cut and buying handmade cards. Of course I would like to raise as much money as possible for the Little Princess Trust but have set my goal at £350 as this is how much it costs to provide a wig to a child.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my page.
