Story
This Autumn, Katherine and Ellie will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon and raising funds for a vital cause. Thank you in advance for supporting our huge challenge and donating whatever you can, it will make a massive difference.
My family have all been long term supporters of the SCT, and my brother Edward and I visited Eswatini earlier in the year alongside the SCT. I signed up to run the Royal Parks Half during the trip, and managed to convince Ellie to run it with me!
The Swaziland Charitable Trust (the SCT) works for the people of the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), helping to develop a healthy and well-educated community. The Trust’s long experience in the Kingdom and its local Board of Management ensure that assistance is responsive to local needs.
The projects we support are closely monitored and seen through to completion. The SCT most commonly offers grants to schools, community groups and charities in Eswatini. It operates an orphan support scheme and it acts as a conduit for other charities assisting Eswatini.
Donations collected will go to helping the supported children in covering their tertiary education fees, but please see guidelines and the stretch of your potential donations below.
• £70 will pay Primary School fees for a year.
• £400 will pay High School expenses for a year.
• £1,000 will buy roofing materials for a community-built classroom.
• £4,000 will buy the building materials for a school classroom.
There is a fabulous group all aiming to raise at least £300-500 per runner for the Trust, which as you can see will make a massive difference to the lives of these capable, young individuals.
