Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Update - Belfast Marathon Walk completed - in the sunshine!! - on Monday 3rd May. We managed a very respectable 2 hours and 20 minutes in the end which we were very pleased with. Again, thank you to each and every one of you for your support and generosity.
Yes, here we are, getting ready to do the Belfast Marathon Walk all over again in 2010. We really enjoyed doing it last year and thanks to everyone who contributed, we managed to raise over £1000 (£1079.10 to be precise!), all of which went in support of Sands Northern Ireland and the fantastic work they do in providing support to anyone affected by the death of a baby. They also promote research to reduce the loss of babies' lives. Just the same as last year, we're raising the money in memory of Ronan Sands, our nephew.
This year, Jason and I would like to set ourselves two challenges. One is to raise over the £1000 mark again and the other is to do the 9 mile walk in under two hours. Not much under two hours I don't suppose but there you go! For the record, we managed the 9 miles in 2 hours 45 minutes last year which we were very pleased with, especially given Siobhan's ankle injury. Siobhan isn't able to do the walk with us this year but she will be cheering us on from the sidelines - we hope! She may even get the first round in when we're done! :)
Anyway, you're visiting our fundraising page to find out more about what we're doing and we hope that you will find it in your hearts to give whatever you can for such a worthy cause.
