Hi all

I am walking the distance of Route 66 to raise money and awareness for GCA, Giant Cell Arteritis.

A few years ago my dad became unwell, headaches, teeth problems and a change in his eye sight.. After several visits to the doctors only on the second visit to a&e was GCA considered as what the problem was, despite it being suggested several times. The problem being the lack of knowledge. Due to the delay in treatment my dad became very ill and lost part of his sight in one eye completely. Once diagnosed he was treated and is now luckily currently in remission.

My aim is to raise money for the charity in order to help raise awareness as the charity has no government funding as is ran by volunteers.

If you can spare anything if would be gratefully appreciated! As my grandad said “look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves”!
