Story
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Jess and I are running the Disney World Half Marathon in Florida on the 12th January 2013 and hopefully doing lots of 5k and 10k training runs in the build-up to it. We're doing this for two reasons. Firstly, one of our best friends Rachel died in February 2012. She was always up for a challenge and loved crazy ideas so this seems a fitting way to remember her.
Secondly we want to raise some money for charity. We've linked our pages because both our chosen charities mean a lot to us.
Panthera, carry out vital conservation work which is underpinned by field based research and science. While Panthera’s efforts are focused on saving wild cats, the impacts go far beyond. Cats act as landscape guardians and their presence indicates healthy, intact ecosystems that are crucial for all life, including people. 100% of your donation will fund conservation action in the field - Panthera's admin costs are provided by their founder and Chairman.
The British Heart Foundation, to support the important work that they do, which might one day shed light on deaths such as my Dad's and Rachel's.
Thanks for supporting us!
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
