Story
I did it! I completed 26.2 miles running the Virgin Money London Marathon on April 13, 2014. It was possibly the toughest thing I've done in my life as injury made the journey a lot more painful that I could have imagined.
However, the crowd, supporters, my cause and your donations spurred me on to the end.
Thank you - so very much.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page to find out why I'm running the Virgin Money London Marathon on April 13, 2014.
For nine years I have sponsored a World Vision child, Issifi, 16, who lives in Niger. He is the same age as our son Ollie and while his aspirations may be different and his challenges a world apart from teenagers in the UK, nevertheless he wishes and hopes for a better future for himself, his family and his community.
My sponsorship of Issifi DOES make a difference. It DOES give him and his community a greater chance of success - survival, education, progression.
I write to Issifi - he writes back. He sends photos and I can see him growing up. It's personal, sponsoring a named child whose progress you can see. And running London for Issifi is personal too.
Yes, I'm a runner. But running 26.2 miles, for over 4 hours is a far cry from anything I've done before. It's twice the distance I've ever run before. This place has been deferred from 2013 when a stress fracture meant I couldn't run. I've had another stress fracture since then. So the training has been tough to get to the stage where I believe I can run a marathon distance.
Your support and encouragement will make a world of difference to me as I train and run for World Vision. Your money will go towards education materials for Issifi and other children in his village. Please support them by supporting me.
Thank you!
