Story
'Sadly, 2.65m older people feel they have no one to turn to for help and around 3.9m older people consider TV to be their main form of company.'
I'll be honest, the above was auto-filled when I set up this page, but reading it broke my heart. No one should have to feel like this - and on top of loneliness, the worsening cost of living crisis will make life even harder for millions of older people across the country.
Sooo, when offered the opportunity by AgeUK to run the London Marathon for them, I jumped at the chance - both to contribute a tiny bit to their excellent work in providing vital services that offer companionship, advice and support, and to complete a long-held running goal.
It will be a challenge, that's for sure - training hasn't been plain sailing so far due to a recurring injury, but I'm hopefully back on track and very excited for the run on Oct 2. To make the day even better, I'll be running it with my brilliant sister Caroline!
Updates to follow, and thank you in advance for your support! x
