I will be climbing Kilimanjaro this October, taking six days of up to 13 hours a day trekking and staggering about. It includes rainforest and stretches of volcanic rock as well as the more traditional snow-capped mountains, including an ascent equivalent to climbing the stairs up nine consecutive Empire State buildings.
And for all those economists out there who have spent the last two years hiding under their desks screaming and might have forgotten what the outside world is like - a mountain takes the form of the traditional ‘boom and bust’ model, only the screaming takes place on the way up, rather than the way down.
I will be raising (your) money for MIND, the charity that helps people take control of their mental health by providing information and advice, as well as campaigning to promote and protect good mental health for everyone.
