Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.
I am running the London Marathon 2022 in October for Motor Neurone Disease Association in honour of my Granny Mooney, the patients I treat and all those who are affected by this disease.
Motor Neurone Disease is a cruel condition which attacks the nerves which control movement in the body and can lead to people becoming “locked in”. My Granny sadly lost her ability to speak and swallow as a part of the condition, which is what inspired me to become a Speech and Language Therapist within the field of Adults with communication and swallowing difficulties. I am incredibly honoured to currently work with people with Neurological conditions at Leeds General Infirmary, including those with Motor Neurone Disease.
I have never run a Marathon before, so this is a huge undertaking for me! I am so unbelievably excited and grateful to have been offered a place in the London race with MNDA and how fitting to come back to my home city for it!
I am so thankful for any support and donations you can make.
Every little counts!
- £10- Provides an information pack for a newly diagnosed person with MND so they know what to expect and how to access support.
- £75- Funds an MND expert researcher for half a day to help us better understand the disease.
- £160- Will buy a specialist communication app enabling someone who has lost the ability speak to continue communicating with others (this is what SLT do!)

50% of anything raised over the fundraising pledge of £3000 will be donated to the West Yorkshire branch/Leeds MND Care Centre
