Hello everyone, I'm Katherine. 

On the 8th July 2014, I will be taking part in the Race for Life Event in Peterborough, as part of Team Heart. If you know me, you will know that this will be a big challenge for me, as I never liked doing anything physical back at school and I would try almost anything to get out of doing so. The event I'm taking part in is 5k, so I'm starting my training now so that I can prepare myself in plenty of time but despite this I'm very much looking forward to taking part in this event. 

I've choosen to take part in this event as this is a cause close to my heart, and I've also been to many Race for Life events as a child due to family members taking part and I remember saying to myself that I will take part one day, and it so happens that the 8th July is that one day. I've also seen cancer affect so many people I know lives, in so many ways - so I'm doing my bit, by trying to raise as much money as I can for them, and everyone else who is fighting cancer, knows someone who is fighting cancer, who has won the fight with cancer, and for the people who are sadly no longer with us because of cancer.

The money I raise will be going to a charity called Have a Heart, that are working alongside Cancer Research this year. I have set myself a personal target of raising atleast £100, so any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated. 

So please help me and the many other ladies taking part in Team Heart raise as much as we possibly can, so that we can one day, working together, can help make cancer history!!
