Story
Hi everyone ❤️
As you will have seen, I am taking part in Courage on the Catwalk alongside 23 amazing ladies that have been/are still going through cancer treatment.
I’ve never thought of myself as a catwalk model, takes me all my time to walk in flats never mind heels! This is way out of my comfort zone but I’m excited to be getting out of it after being stuck in it for so long 😂
In October 2020 after being unwell for some time and having loads of bloods taken and a bone marrow biopsy, I was diagnosed with Myelodysplasia (MDS), a type of blood cancer. This put my life on hold and I had to leave college. I was having around three blood transfusions a week and constantly being topped up with platelets as my bone marrow wasn’t producing much at all. Fast forward to May 2021, I went to Glasgow for three months to have a stem cell transplant. My dad was my half match and forever grateful he donated his stem cells and saved my life!
I wouldn’t have gotten through all this if it wasn’t for my amazing son (the only one that was allowed to slap my bald head and laugh) 😂 and my parents!
Every penny of your donation will go towards the ANCHORED Together appeal; the charity’s commitment to raise £2million for additional extras within The ANCHOR Centre, which is currently under construction and due to open this year.
All of Friends of ANCHOR’s overheads are covered by local company Balmoral Group, so you can rest assured that 100% of your donation will do great work!
