In October last year I was due to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the incredible Royal Marsden team who saved my mum's life 3 years ago. A fortnight prior to the event I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. This came out of the blue and was a total shock to me, my family and friends. I was fortunate to be able to seek support from the Royal Mardsen which changed everything for me. Their level of care, support, innovation and excellence meant I felt I could hand myself over to them and focus on my treatment. I am still under their care and I cannot speak highly enough of the Royal Marsden. Thanks to the life saving treatment I received I am now in the position where I can train for and take part in my first half marathon. Any donations however small can end up being life changing - it certainly has done this for my mum and me. This photo was a quick selfie as I was walking into the ward for my first chemo. I was terrified but full of hope and trust for my amazing medical team. Follow my journey @warriorted instagram
