Story
I still I can’t believe it - I’ve been chosen by EAAA to be one of their gold bond runners for London Marathon 2020!
Many of you know why this charity is so personal and important to me - on 26/9/18 my husband Luke was involved in a serous RTC whilst travelling to work on his motorbike. All emergency services were contacted and the EAAA were able to arrive quickly and land in a nearby field. They transported Luke swiftly to the N&N hospital where he received the medical treatment he urgently needed.
Luke was very lucky - although his injuries are life changing, he had no internal injuries, head injuries and he still has mobility ❤️ We will be eternally grateful for all the emergency services who attended that day - and I feel so lucky to still have a husband to moan at and dream with!
EAAA are funded ENTIRELY by charitable donations and yet their work is so essential, especially in rural communities such as Norfolk where we live and work. Anyone could have cause to need an air ambulance - they aren’t just for RTC’s - you just never think things like this will happen to you. These people are real life heroes!
So I’m stepping up to this mammoth challenge - I’ve been a member of a running club for a couple of years now and love my running but have yet to have reached the stage of fitness required to take on the daunting task of 26.2 miles! No excuses this time - I WILL be running the London Marathon and, with your support, help save more lives 🙌🏼
