Story
When Charlotte was born by emergency section she had a blood count of 4 ( healthy babies have a count of 17) she only had 40% of blood in her body, by some miracle one of the consultants had seen this before and knew what to do, Charlotte was rushed to intensive care and given 2 blood transfusions through the umbilical cord. We didn't see her for 24 hours and they were concerned about brain damage, thankfully Charlotte fully recovered without any further complications due to the swift action of Dorchester hospital.
Unfortunately the same thing happened to my cousin in February 2018 but Clara didn't get the immediate care she needed and suffered hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy which resulted in Clara being diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, secondary microscopy (small head syndrome) and CVI , which results in claras brain not sending the correct signals to her eyes resulting in minimal vision.
Two years later, she has a wonderful laugh, and perseveres so hard to use her limbs. However, there is innovative treatment she can get in Boston, Massachusetts try and improve her movements with the aim to get her sitting unaided. Charlotte is desperate to raise some money to help Clara on her journey so we would be very grateful if you could sponsor her. The hair will be sent to the Little Princess Trust that makes wigs for children with cancer. Thank you so much. Xx
