Story
On April 2nd I am running The London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise funds for a fantastic local charity, the Deborah Ubee Trust.
This local Greenwich based charity promotes emotional health and wellbeing by providing counselling and therapeutic services to all, irrespective of a means to pay.
One in four of us will be affected by mental illness at some point in our lives and the impact of mental illness can extend far beyond the person affected.
Yet access to funded services to support mental health needs, particularly for children, is extremely difficult. And that's why I jumped at the chance to run for this great cause!
But I need a bit of help! My nearly 14 year old son, who is much fitter than me has challenged me to beat the time of my 1st half marathon 24 years ago - and complete this challenge in less than 1hour 55 minutes!
Any donation however small would be a huge encouragement to get me out running and meet what is going to be a tough target!
Wellbeing matters.... With our support, the Deborah Ubee Trust can continue to provide life-changing help for local people who have mental health challenges.
