Story
We (The Rookies netball team) are fundraising in support of Shine Cancer Support in memory of Sarah Hart. Sarah was an integral part of our team - as WA she always managed to get that centre pass and her "come on Rookies" shout will never be forgotten. Sarah was a rainbow of colour - from her brightly coloured leggings to her rainbow coloured umbrella. She played for us through chemo and through drug trials - her dedication and enthusiasm was unbelievable. We will miss her massively. Sarah was a network embassador to the midlands region for 'Shine Cancer Support' and we are therefore continuing her legacy and raising money for them. We've included some information about their work below.
People diagnosed with cancer are at risk of infection due to their disease and treatment. This also means they're much more vulnerable to coronavirus and most of our community is now self-isolating.Shine is adapting services, moving away from face-to-face meet ups and developing more digital services. They're a tiny charity and all of their big fundraising events have been cancelled. At the same time, the demand for services is increasing with more people staying at home and feeling more lonely and isolated than ever. .Shine need to keep services running. Please help us to make sure that they can support their community at the time when it's needed most.
