Story
A very wise woman recently said:
"I used to think there were two pieces to healing: the big, cataclysmic events that change everything in an instant, and the quieter weaving of intention / change into our day to day lives.
I've come to see there's a hidden and essential third piece: the taking beyond ourselves the healing we have experienced, and the light and pathways of our own wounding and strength that is revealed therein." (Rebecca Wright, 2020)
This August, I am walking 62 miles across the month (much of it probably running up and down the stairs with laundry/snacks/the hoover #realitycheck !!) to raise funds for Refuge, a hugely important charity that work tirelessly to support women and children who have experienced Domestic Abuse.
My mantra over the last couple of years has been "one foot in front of another". Simple, effective, sometimes slow, but getting there, one day at a time. All the steps adding up to a new, healthier, happier journey.
If you can, please consider supporting Refuge, your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little. Anything helps. Thank you for your support. I've included information about Refuge below.
One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.By kindly sponsoring me today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence.Thank you.
