Story
I will be running my 15th and final marathon in Dublin on 30th October in memory of my mum who died from cancer in 2008. Throughout my life I have seen cancer touch the lives of some of my very good friends and their families and indeed having recovered from breast cancer in 2018 this makes this charity so very close to my heart. This will be my final and indeed a very special marathon on so many levels. I’ll be running in memory of my mum and all our friends and family we have both loved and lost and all those who have been affected by cancer. Thanking you in advance for taking the time to read my page and for your ongoing support since 2009.
Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people in Ireland dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour. The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support. On October 30 I will be running the Dublin City Marathon and as part of that, I am raising money to help support cancer patients and their families. Your support will help make a difference.
