"Make no small plans"
This October marks five years since my diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer at age 39. I decided to run the Chicago Marathon to mark this personal milestone but, more importantly, to raise funds for breast cancer research with Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation. It's a big milestone, and I have a big fundraising goal of $25,000.
Going through cancer treatment was challenging, but it's been even harder to lose friends to breast cancer. It was especially hard to lose one of my best cancer friends, Natalie, to triple negative breast cancer earlier this year. I wake up early, put in the work and hustle to raise money and make steady progress toward a cure.
As a physician myself, I know that the dollars really do make a difference in getting closer to a world where mothers, daughters, sisters, friends and other loved ones aren't dying from breast cancer. I run for Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation since they're an incredible organization that supports research and education to prevent breast cancer and improve outcomes for individuals with breast cancer. Together we can do this!
