Story
18 months later than planned and after two rescheduled dates the hackney half is actually happening on 26th Sept! We are blown away by how much we have raised for St Joseph's but know that they need our support now more than ever and would be so grateful for any donations. No amount is too small.
St Joseph’s Hospice supports people affected by life-limiting conditions of all ages, helping them live life to the full, to the very last. They have to raise an average of £19,000 each day to keep their services going. As well as nursing and medical care, both in-patient and at home, they offer free counselling to patients, their family and friends.
Kate was very grateful to all the staff at St Joseph's. It is no overstatement to say that they were vital to her quality of life and happiness in the last months and days of her life. When she said she wanted to die at home, they made it possible when it felt impossible. I'm not sure how we'd have got through it without them.
On Sunday 26th Sept 2021, Grace, Lottie, Imo, Hannah, Clio and Edie will all be running the Hackney Half - past St Joseph's on their route. We would be so grateful for any support you are able to offer St Joseph's, in memory of Grace and Eleanor's extraordinary mum, Kate Figes.
On Sunday 17th May 2020 (the original date for the hackney Half) the 6 of us ran a socially distance relay marathon across London in 4 hours 11 mins, and you can watch some highlights here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYvjDT9jnMc
