Story

Hi Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Saturday 26 September 2009 I will reach the milestone that is my 40th Birthday!!

I wanted to do something fun, which is why I have chosen the skydive at Netheravon Airfield, but I also wanted to do something to help those that suffer from the terrible curse that is Cancer, which is why I have set up this Just Giving page.

As some of you will know, my close friend Rachel recently lost her husband of 5 days, Rod Males. Rod was diagnosed in Jun 08 with the disease, but lost his battle on 29 Jun 09. During his illness, he and Rachel were looked after by the Royal Marsden Hospital which specialises in the treatment and care of cancer sufferers and, just as importantly, their partners. Towards the end of Rod's life the hospital was able to accommodate some urgent last minute changes to Rod and Rachels plans and allow the two of them to finally live their dream and get married at the hospital. Tragically, Rod lost his battle just 5 days later.

By supporting my charity, your help will go a small way to ensuring that the incredible work the doctors and staff do at the Royal Marsden is continued. So please, please, please give generously.

Simon has paid for the Parachute jump, so all your donation will go to the charity.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Many thanks in anticipation of your kind support, and please donate rather than buy me a present.

EDITED TO ADD: I DID IT!!!! Thank you all so much, for giving to this worthwhile cause. Kate xxx
