Story

Me and my Dad are challenging ourselves to run the London Marathon together. We want to raise awareness and increase understanding of Huntington's Disease. It's a cruel hereditary disease that's been a huge part of our family's life for many years. My Dad's Dad suffered this disease for over 20 years before passing away at the young age of 47. And my wonderful Uncle Graham continues to bravely battle Huntington's Disease every day.

Huntington's Disease is a progressive brain disorder caused by a defective gene. It causes changes with movement, learning, thinking and emotions. Although worldwide research is taking place, there is currently no cure. Scottish Huntington's Association supports families impacted by this cruel disease.

Running a marathon will be one of my biggest challenges yet. But I'm ready to take it on and dedicate all my spare time (which is sparce!) to training. And will even run the marathon in fancy dress! We're looking for fancy dress ideas - so please pop any suggestions in the comments.

By doing this me and my Dad hope to raise £2000 each for Scottish Huntington's Assocation.

Many thanks in advance for your generosity, it means a lot to us.
