Kate's Yorkshire 3 peaks

Yorkshire 3 peaks · 22 March 2014
I'm walking 23.5 miles up and down 3 peaks (5,500 ft) with my work colleagues from St Albans and Milton Keynes on Saturday 22nd March.
Now to get to the serious stuff, I hadn't heard about the Harrison Fund or Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy until I agreed to do this challenge and I am so glad my company chose this charity, when I read about this disease and Harrison's illness, it broke my heart.
Harrison is 7 years old and has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It's the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children around the world. If you've got it, you can't produce dystrophin, a protein you need to build up your muscles. As a result, every muscle in the body deteriorates. At the moment there is no cure.
The facts about Duchenne are inescapable:
Alex, Harrison's dad, set up Harrison's Fund to get as much money as possible into the hands of the world's best researchers, who are working to find a cure for Duchenne.
Please support me and the Harrison fund with any donation you can manage, every penny helps. I know I want to help all the families and especially the children that have to live and deal with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy every day. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
