London to Brighton Cycle 2013 · 8 September 2013 ·

Amnesty International UK is movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Some of our campaigns includes refugees, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, and conflict-affected countries. When we unite even the smallest acts of humanity make a difference.

Story

Hello - thanks for visiting!

I've wanted to ride London to Brighton for a long time, so when the opportunity arose to do it for Amnesty International, I jumped on it! Not only could I raise money to support valuable efforts to protect freedom of speech and human rights (becoming more salient each day and with each new news story), I could also indulge my extreme stubbornness (hoping to garner extra sympathy / danger money in the process) by doing it on my single speed.

I will be joined by friend and fellow anti-gear enthusiast Bob, with whom, following a gruelling training schedule of cajoling / insulting each other up hills, I hope to reach the top of Ditchling Beacon in one piece!

It would be most lovely if you fancied throwing some money our way for this excellent cause (or for just the pure amusement of watching our attempt).

Much love,

Kate

P.S. Plan B, pictured is what might happen if we don't raise enough money! Dig deep!
