Story
For those of you who don't know already, I have the honour and privilege to run The London Marathon 2022 for Dementia UK on 2nd October this year.
This is a charity very close to my heart and means the world to me, that I can give something back to such a personal and worthy cause.
My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimers approximately 7 years ago.
This was not my first experience of the disease, as I have worked with patients, families and care givers through my job for many years. Where I had always admired the compassion and strength people had for their loved ones who had been diagnosed with the illness.
However, when my mum was diagnosed, nobody could have ever prepared me for how this cruel illness starts to take away the person you know and love.
Between now and October I will be arranging a number over charity events to try and raise as much money as I can towards Dementia Uk.
I know we will all have been touched by someone close to us who has been diagnosed with Alzheimers/dementia.
I thank you all in advance for helping me raise money for such a worthy cause.
Mum- love you always this run is for you ❤♥
I'm running the TCS London Marathon for Dementia UK.Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.* Share your personal story let your sponsors know why you have chosen to support Dementia UK by taking part in TCS London Marathon 2022.
