I DID IT!! It was crowded and hot (and hilly!) but I completed it!

In August 2020, I was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer.

As a result of prompt diagnosis and action (whipping out the offending left kidney in September 2020), I am currently healthy and well.

Every six months, I go through anxiety and worry as I have blood tests and CT scans to check the cancer has not returned…but so far, so good and the treatment from the NHS has been supportive and first class.

Behind the scenes, Kidney cancer UK supports those diagnosed with this disease, as well as their families. This includes having helpful pages to talk about fears and to seek advice from those in similar situations.

I have a place in this year’s GNR. This will be my first half marathon since having surgery, so please set your expectations regarding my performance accordingly. I’ve mainly been cycling….
